Getting to New Zealand takes a lot of work, at least they way I did it. Not only does it take the work to get into the program but it took me five planes and a bus to get to where I am sitting right now. The flight that I thought was going to the worst was actually not so bad, the 13 hour flight from LA to Auckland. First of all the plane was huge, it had 66 rows each with 9 seats (3 sets of 3) and I'm pretty sure that that doesn't include the first class area (which is a whole different story, the seats lay down into beds!). There were TVs for each person and you could watch whatever you wanted from a huge selection of movies and TV shows, listen to music or play games. The seat I was assigned was next to two people not on our trip but there was a row behind me with just one girl from our trip in it so I moved there (we were both on an isle) for everything but take off and landing so I had so much room! We were also served two meals, dinner and breakfast, that came with the purchase of our plane ticket. And this was pretty good food, especially for an airplane! The only downside was that there was a lot of turbulence so it was hard to stay asleep throughout the whole flight. After that we had one more flight then hopped on a bus and drove to the university to get settled before we went out for the afternoon. Even though the flight wasn't bad, I've decided that one day I will come back and I will fly first class on that Air NewZealand overnight flight!
Perhaps I'll go with you on that trip!
